Altman Solon strengthens senior team in Europe with new partners

Altman Solon, a global strategy consulting firm focused exclusively on the telecommunications, media, and technology sectors, has strengthened its European leadership team with three appointments.

In Germany, Udo Bauer has joined the firm as a partner. Based in the Munich office, he has 17 years of experience advising clients across software, telecom infrastructure and IT services, specializing in commercial excellence, operating model design, full potential programs, and international expansion strategies.

Prior to joining Altman Solon, Bauer spent his career at Bain & Company, including five years as a partner.

“Udo brings deep expertise across software, IT services, and fiber, along with a strong track record helping clients improve commercial performance and scale effectively,” said Matthias Hamel, Managing Partner at Altman Solon. “His experience shaping operating models and driving full potential programs will be a valuable asset for our clients and teams in Europe and beyond as we continue to expand our coverage across the TMT value chain.”

In the Netherlands, Altman Solon hired Joost Eyck as associate partner. He brings more than 12 years of experience across the TMT sectors, with a focus on strategy development and large-scale transformation programs for leading corporate clients across semiconductors, technology, and telecom. He advises clients on growth, portfolio, and go-to-market strategies, operating model transformation, and cost optimization.

Eyck also supports private equity clients on semiconductor deals, including commercial due diligence and post-deal value creation.

Carli Esser, Partner and Head of the Amsterdam office, said: “Joost’s experience spanning strategy and large-scale transformation across semiconductors, technology, and telecom is an excellent fit for our clients in the Netherlands and beyond.”

Prior to joining Altman Solon, Eyck worked in strategy and M&A consulting at Strategy&, and served law firm Stibbe, where he focused on the legal side of dealmaking.

In Italy, Altman Solon has promoted Matteo Tiranti to associate partner. He has more than 10 years of experience advising clients across the media, digital, and sports sectors.

Since joining Altman Solon in 2021, Tiranti has supported leading organizations and investors on high-impact strategy, transformation work, and M&A for broadcasters, producers, advertisers, publishers, sports organizations, as well as consumer digital companies and investors.

Tiranti has recently supported leading European broadcasters on major strategy and transformation programs. He advised media groups across video, music, and news on their digital strategies, including go-to-market and proposition design, as well as major sports organizations on commercial development. His experience also includes extensive IP valuation work, ranging from sports rights, carriage deals, and content libraries, as well as M&A-related engagements.

Dan Lerner, Managing Partner at Altman Solon, said: “Matteo’s well-deserved promotion is a testament to the strength of the bench we are building in the media segment. He combines sharp strategic thinking with real expertise in media and sports. We’re excited to welcome him to the partnership.”
