Mick van Rosmalen and Berkin Ersoy join torq.partners in Amsterdam office
German-origin financial advisory firm torq.partners has strengthened its Amsterdam office with the hires of Mick van Rosmalen and Berkin Ersoy.
Headquartered in Berlin, with further offices in Hamburg and Potsdam in Germany and Amsterdam in the Netherlands, torq.partners supports fast-growing companies (start-ups and scale-ups) and their investors with a range of CFO services, including financial advisory, mergers & acquisitions, fundraising support, and finance operations. The firm, which has around 100 staff, also has an interim CFO offering.
In its Amsterdam business, which launched in 2022, Mick van Rosmalen has been appointed as Manager. He brings over five years of private equity experience to the firm gained at CNBB Equity Partners, a software-and tech investor operating in the Benelux region. During this time, he built expertise in investment evaluation and deal execution across a range of software-and tech-enabled assets.
“What drew me to torq.partners is the chance to go beyond the investment side and work directly with founders on building and scaling their businesses. Having spent years evaluating and supporting software businesses from the investment side, I am excited to now bring that experience to bear in a more hands-on, operational role,” said Van Rosmalen on his move.
Berkin Ersoy meanwhile has joined as Analyst. He has around four years of experience spanning mergers & acquisitions, private equity, and venture capital across Belgium and Turkey.
Before joining torq.partners, he gained experience at private equity firms Maxus Capital and Strada Partners, where he worked on various business services and software investments across Europe. Earlier, he worked in M&A advisory at Istanbul-based Dora Capital.
In his new role, he will support clients with deals and fundraising processes. “Having worked across multiple geographies and asset classes, I’ve seen first-hand the complexities founders face during transactions and fundraising processes. The hands-on, founder-focused approach of torq.partners is exactly what drew me to the firm, and I’m excited to contribute to building that proposition further in the Benelux.”
Bas Scheele, Managing Partner of the Amsterdam office, said the arrival of the two new colleagues marks a next step in the firm’s growth in the Dutch market.
“Our model combines hands-on financial leadership – through part-time and fractional CFO roles – with advisory on fundraising and deals. That combination differentiates us in the market. While similar services exist at large consulting firms, we focus exclusively on start-ups and scale-ups, which allows us to bring a much more specialised perspective. That focus resonates strongly with both our clients and the professionals who join our team.”
