Sourcing Champions and WTP Buynamics partner to help CPOs lift their negotiation power
Sourcing Champions, a Benelux-based procurement consultancy specializing in cost reduction programs, has entered into a partnership agreement with WTP Buynamics, a software provider that helps procurement leaders turn cost insights into negotiation power.
In its work with clients, Sourcing Champions has seen that procurement spend insights can be combined with smart data on raw material prices, production costs, and margins to strengthen organisations’ negotiation power.
“By gaining insight into the true cost drivers of products, as well as other fact-based inputs that shape negotiation processes, Chief Procurement Officers (CPOs) and their teams can shift the power dynamics with their ecosystem partners and unlock savings,” said Robert Waalder, Partner at Sourcing Champions.
Additionally, coming to the negotiating table equipped with deep, fact-based insights can enhance supply chain resilience through smarter, long-term agreements. “In today’s volatile market, characterised by supply chain disruptions, price fluctuations, and increasing geopolitics, resilience is top of mind for many procurement leaders.”
Through partnering with WTP Buynamics, Sourcing Champions can leverage its award-winning platform to provide precisely these insights to buying organisations and category managers.
The WTP Buynamics platform delivers visibility into true product costs by combining real-time commodity tracking, industry-specific cost structures, and global price benchmarks. The platform covers more than 150 countries and regions, over 3,500 commodity prices, more than 160 currencies, and 360+ industry cost structures. In addition, it provides freight lane benchmarks to validate logistics costs.
“Together, we can conduct deep dives into product specifications and cost build-ups, identify hidden cost elements, develop tailored cost models for specific industries and categories, and deliver cost models that enable global teams to negotiate from a single, consistent baseline,” said Waalder.
Cost savings
By applying this approach, Waalder said organisations can typically achieve savings ranging from 2% to 15% through stronger supplier discussions and enhanced long-term discipline in cost transparency.
“This partnership marks an important step in how we support our clients in achieving sustainable cost reductions. It enables us to help organisations unlock savings in a more innovative and data-driven way.”
The partnership sees Sourcing Champions become the first pure-play procurement consultancy admitted to the WTP Buynamics partner network. Other consultancies in the network include Accenture, KPMG, and The Gap Partnership.
“What we value most is clarity. Sourcing Champions brings that to procurement by combining strong expertise with the transparent use of digital solutions. We complement that with a substantial cost insights database, advanced cost modelling, and negotiation strategies that turn data into leverage,” said Robert Driessen, Founder of WTP Buynamics.
