Zanders boosts Treasury practice with hire of Alexander Odenthal
International treasury and risk consultancy Zanders has appointed Alexander Odenthal as partner in its DACH business.
Alexander Odenthal brings two decades of experience in consulting to Zanders, with a strong track record in treasury transformation. Throughout his career, his primary focus has been on the optimization of treasury processes and the implementation of solutions in the SAP environment.
Odenthal joins from BearingPoint, where he was a partner and led the Treasury team in Germany. Before that, he spent two and a half years at EY, where he was responsible for the Treasury practice in Germany. Earlier, he worked at BearingPoint for eleven years in his first spell at the firm.
In his new role at Zanders, he will lead the firm’s SAP Treasury services across the DACH region. “I’m looking forward to building and expanding the team and combining my SAP experience with Zanders’ deep business and treasury expertise to deliver real value for our clients,” he said.
According to Odenthal, the market for SAP Treasury services is a bright spot in the consulting landscape, as many corporates seek greater control over their cash flows and aim to transform Treasury departments into enablers of robust corporate finance and risk management in an increasingly volatile world.
At the same time, corporates using SAP as their ERP technology face the daunting prospect of migrating to S/4HANA, as older SAP systems approach their end-of-life. “At Zanders, we support clients through these complex system transformations and operational changes as they modernize their SAP landscapes,” he said.
“Meanwhile, topics such as bank connectivity, in-house banking, and enhanced forecasting are attracting much more attention,” he added.
Laurens Tijdhof, the CEO of Zanders, said the firm is delighted to welcome Odenthal to its team. “His extensive experience in treasury consulting and long-standing focus on SAP Treasury implementations significantly strengthen our capabilities. His deep understanding of SAP-driven treasury transformation, combined with his pragmatic approach will be invaluable as we support corporates in the DACH region in modernizing their treasury functions and transitioning toward S/4HANA.”
Headquartered in the Netherlands, Zanders has over 500 employees across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the US, and Asia Pacific. The company is backed by private equity.
